Optional Excursions
Our tours are carefully planned to
offer you a comfortable balance of sightseeing, entertainment, and
leisure time. Experience shows, however, that many travelers like to use
their free time to make one or more additional excursions. The optional
excursions we offer for the Heart of Europe®
Tour are listed below along with approximate prices and times, as well
as the cities from which they are operated. Detailed descriptions of the
specific excursions for your tour will also be sent with your Trip
Documents Packet.
Optional Excursions must be booked with and
paid to your tour manager in Europe. Prices are in American Dollars, and
you may pay with US Dollars in cash or with credit card (only VISA,
Mastercard and Discover are accepted). If you pay by credit card, you
must be able to present the actual card to the tour manager. Please note
that personal checks and traveler's checks are not accepted.
Operation of all excursions is subject to sufficient participation, and
some excursions are dependent on favorable weather conditions. Your tour
manager reserves the right to make changes to or cancel these excursions
at his/her sole discretion.
Grand Holland -
8:30 a.m.-7:00 p.m. from Leusden, US$75
A grand tour of the Netherlands including a visit to a picturesque Dutch
village and an afternoon in Amsterdam, the Dutch capital. The day ends
with a boat ride through Amsterdam's canals.
Tyrolean Folkore
Show & Dinner - 6:30 p.m.-11:00 p.m. in Innsbruck, US$100
After a Wiener Schnitzel dinner at the hotel, enjoy traditional Tyrolean
folklore entertainment, including singing, dancing, and yodeling.
Bavarian Castle -
8:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. from Innsbruck, US$80
In Bavaria, visit the French rococo castle of Linderhof followed by a
visit to the village of Oberammergau, site of the famous Passion Play.
Conclude with a photo stop at Neuschwanstein Castle.
Verona & Venice -
8:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m. from Bussolengo, US$110
Make a stop in Verona, made famous by Shakespeare's tragic love story of
'Romeo and Juliet'. Walk to Juliet's balcony. Then, continue to romantic
Venice, and reach St. Mark's Square by motor boat. After a one-hour
guided walking tour, you're free to discover this city of bridges,
canals, and gondolas. With six people sharing, you can take a gondola
ride for approximately $40 per person. Dinner at a characterstic
Venetian 'ristorante' is included.
Lake Lucerne
Boatride & Dinner - 6:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. from Lake Lucerne hotel, US$105
Board a steamer for a cruise on Lake Lucerne. After the cruise, enjoy a
wonderful dinner at one of Lucerne's restaurants.
Swiss Mountain -
1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. from Lucerne, US$75
Get ready for a breathtaking exprience. Climb to the summit of Mt.
Stanserhorn by both cogwheel rail and cable car. At the top, enjoy the
panorama on the terrace of the mountain top restaurant, take a walk
along the mountain paths, and capture the magnificent vistas on film.
Natur Pur - 6:30
p.m.-8:30 p.m. from Leusden, US$65
A covered wagon ride through the Swiss countryside is followed with a
'wine and cheese' tasting at a local farmer's home.
Seine River Cruise
& Eiffel Tower - 12:00 noon-2:30 p.m. in Paris, US$65
Enjoy a ride on the Seine River while feasting your eyes on landmarks
such as Musée d' Orsay, Palais Royal, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the
Louvre. Following the boat ride, take an elevator to the first level of
the Eiffel Tower for a spectacular view of Paris.
Paris Evening -
7:00 p.m.-10:30 p.m. in Paris, US$105
Your evening begins with dinner and music at a nice restaurant. Take a
roundabout route back to the hotel, affording you some lovely
impressions of one of the world's most celebrated cities. |
